WEEK 5 : PRODUCTION
In this session we focussed mainly on pre-production and finalising our ideas for the start of production week.
I am a member of the documentary team, and we are working on a documentary of the effect of social media ( the ideas for scripts were shared in weeks 3-4) .
We started off by finalising the area we would be looking into; which we decided to make how social media may isolate young people.
We then created a brand for our company : G L A N C E P R O D U C T I O N S.
Here are some images of our brainstorming for this.
Here is the final branding we created:
We then went on to finalising our roles and story boards what we were going to do so we would go into production week with a clear image of what we were going to achieve. I got the role of producer and was really able to look into it by asking one of our tutors, Al Jefferies, who is a producer to go through the role with me so I would know exactly what I was doing. We then at the end of the day did a production meeting to the other group presenting our idea and plan for the next week, which had a prize of a meal for the crew. We then won this after our presentation.

I found this session very helpful as it really allowed me to progress with my professional arts challenge because I got one on one advice from an industry professional on the role of producer, and now feel like I could define the role. I also started to complete some of the documents that the producer needs to fill in so really began to understand the role. I found breaking the day down challenging, as it the beginning it seemed like a massive task and breaking it down into smaller pieces was quite hard at first but then became more manageable once all the roles were divided and everyone knew what they would be doing. |Also. for my personal challenge I continued to articulate my ideas so I feel like that is really developing/
